Things to try if you have problems with your Cutline
- Start your Mac without Extensions
Press and hold the shift key while starting your Mac.
"Extensions disabled" will appear on the screen.
Also see "Boot from a clean system disk"
- Check the communication settings
Make sure that the software settings match the cutter settings.
The default settings for different cutter drivers can be found here
- Disable the "MacOS Easy Open" control-panel
Cutline may hang when opening logotypes.
- Disable OpenTransport
Some versions of OpenTransport can cause communication problems.
Cutline cannot read data such as format size or cutter status, but cutting is still possible.
- Check the cable
Make sure thet you use a proper cable. You can find a wiring diagram (pdf) here.
- Use another communications port
Use the printer port instead of the modem port.
You can also try to use another computer.
- Boot from a clean system disk
Some programs patch the system files, and disabling the extensions will not suffice.
Boot from your Disk tools diskette or CD to start a clean system.
